Rachel and Andrew: Koury Farms Wedding | North Georgia Wedding Photographers

Rachel and Andrew were married on a beautiful fall day at Koury Farms located in Auburn, Georgia. With family and friends by their sides, they said I do under the pavilion overlooking the vineyard. For her wedding colors, Rachel was inspired by her favorite color… purple! Shades of purple filled her day from the bridesmaid’s dresses to the flowers, even her engagement ring is a purple diamond! These purples popped beautifully against the greenery of the vineyard and the subtle hint of fall on the surrounding trees. After the I dos were said, guests made their way into the barn for a night of dining and dancing before sending the new Mr. and Mrs. off with a little sparkle!

Congratulations Rachel and Andrew!!

Kayleigh and Jon: The Densmore Farm | Cleveland, Georgia Wedding Photographers

Kayleigh and Jon were married on a beautiful fall evening at The Densmore Farm, located in Cleveland, Georgia. Kayleigh looked absolutely gorgeous in her lace sleeved wedding gown and her detailed veil. With barn doors between them and the glow of the string lights above them, Kayleigh and Jon exchanged letters and laughs just moments before their ceremony. Bridesmaids in red and groomsmen in blue popped against the greens of the meadow as Jon and Kayleigh said I do, with friends and family by their sides. Following the ceremony, everyone made their way into the barn for a fun night of dinner and dancing, before ending the evening in a sea of bubbles.

Congratulations Kayleigh and Jon!

Shannon and Seth Engagement Session | Dahlonega, Georgia Wedding Photographers

Oh Dahlonega, I don’t think there’s a season we don’t love you in!

Shannon and Seth met while in college at UNG in Dahlonega, Georgia, so for their engagement session, we headed back to our favorite little college town to meet up with them. On this beautiful fall day, we made a little circle around Dahlonega, hitting some of their favorite spots… which also happens to be some of our favorite spots! We started off down by the Yahoola Creek and then made our way to the square, where we wrapped up the evening at The Picnic Cafe. At The Picnic Cafe, they introduced us to some of the best cider we’ve ever had! We warmed up sipping hot cider and had the best time talking all things weddings, movies and Christmas tree picking with these two!

We can’t wait to head back to Dahlonega, in just a few more weeks to kick off our 2020 weddings with them!

Robert and Robin | Flowery Branch, Georgia Photographers

You know the saying third time’s the charm? Well, the third time was definitely the charm when it came to our fall minis this year! Here in North Georgia, October came in two halves… the first half was 90+ degrees and the second half was grey, rainy and dreary. Of course the grey, rainy and dreary rolled in just in time for our Fall Minis. Our original date was a complete washout, it rained the whole weekend, we set the makeup date and guess what… rain… again!! 🤦‍♀️ So we set the third date for November… and held our breath… and hoped and prayed.

While we were getting rained out over and over again… Robert and Robin got engaged! Turning their originally scheduled fall mini session into a fall mini engagement session! Minis were just the other week in Flowery Branch, Georgia and on the Saturday of minis,  we woke up to the most glorious rays of sunshine and even had comfortable temperatures, just a little windy, but hey we can’t complain! We kicked the day off with these two newly engaged friends, and it was the perfect start to a picture-perfect day!

Ashley and Matthew: Enotah Valley Wedding | Blairsville, Georgia Wedding Photographers

On a beautiful September day, with warm sunshine streaming down through the trees, Ashley and Matthew said I do with family and friends gathered around them at Enotah Valley, located in Blairsville, Georgia. There is such a serene beauty to Enotah Valley, unlike any other venue we’ve been too maybe it’s the sound of the water rippling through the creek that flows across the grounds, or being completely surrounded by nature but there is a peaceful beauty that overflows here and makes you feel at home upon arrival and made us never want to leave!

We had the sweetest time celebrating with Ashley and Matthew at Enotah Valley. We loved how Ashley wanted to take time on her special day to carve time out for special moments and memories with the ones she loves. Whether it was spending a few quiet moments with her mom as she got ready or the laughs and chatter going on during hair and makeup with her girls or the teary-eyed moments of first looks and letter exchanges with her father and step-father, she filled her day with memory-making moments.

The sweetness didn’t stop there either, Ashley and Matthew chose to exchange letters between one of the giant trees at Enotah Valley, just moments before their first look! When it came time for the ceremony, Ashley arrived at the ceremony site in one of Enotah Valley’s vintage cars. As the ceremony ended the thunder began to rumble and the rain started just as we made our way into the reception. Where guests enjoyed eating and dancing for the rest of the day away and we snuck out with the newlyweds to play in the rain! We may have all gotten a little soaked, but we’re so glad these two didn’t mind the rain one bit! We headed back in for cake and more dancing before the new Mr. and Mrs. were sent off in a rainy sparkler celebration!

Congratulations Ashley and Matthew!!

The Browning Family | Cleveland, Georgia Photographers

Here in our little corner of North Georgia, we went from a 90 degree October to a grey and very rainy October in a matter of days. Unfortunately for us that grey and rainy weather arrived at the peak of our fall family session schedule. Don’t get us wrong, we definitely need the rain and are grateful for it, but it has made for quite the challenging month, trying to get sessions in and making weather calls! For photographers having to make weather calls is the worst!

Thankfully, we have some of the best families to work with and the skies finally cut us a break! Which meant we were able to meet up with the Browning family in Cleveland, Georgia a few days ago for a beautiful family session! The Browning’s are a family we’ve had the honor of growing with… we’ve been photographing Kristen and Chris since their wedding and we love that they have continued to join for our fall family sessions. Watching Charlotte grow up in front of our camera lens has been so much fun! This year, Charlotte melted us with her personality and we’re pretty sure she’ll make you melt too!

Hannah and Caleb | Corneila Community House Wedding | North Georgia Wedding Photographers

What better way is there to beat the summer heat than celebrating with friends and family!

Hannah and Caleb were married on August 10, 2019, at the Cornelia Community House, located in Cornelia, Georgia.

One of our favorite parts of this sweet wedding day were the sentimental details that were tucked into their day. We loved hearing Hannah tell the story of the rose gold ring she was wearing during their first look… it was a gift to her mother, from her father the day she was born and her parents had gifted it to her that morning. During the ceremony, their wedding rings sat in a heart-shaped wooden tray, that the bride’s brother had carved and given to Hannah as and engagement gift. While the ceremony and reception were filled with wood pieces made by Hannah’s dad for their special day.

Hannah and Caleb said I do with friends and family by their side and following the ceremony, guests were treated with the nice cool treat of ice cream from Mountain Fresh Creamery and cake!  Following the dessert reception, guests headed downstairs for dancing and enjoyed a fun swing dance by the couple, a playful mother-son dance and a sweet father-daughter dance.

It was a beautiful day and honor to celebrate with these two! Congratulations Hannah and Caleb!

Class of 2020: Gracie | Gainesville, Georgia Senior Photographers

We met up with Gracie and her mom a couple of weeks ago on the square in downtown Gainesville, Georgia. A Monday night senior session is never a bad way to start the week! On this particular Monday night, we got the added bonus of having the square practically all to ourselves! This beautiful quiet evening in Gainesville, couldn’t have been more perfect. The leaves on the trees in the middle of the square have already started falling, giving this first of September shoot, a fall like look, but don’t be fooled we’re still hitting the 90s here in North Georgia!

We had the best time with Gracie, soaking in the serene beauty of a normally bustling square and the leaves on the ground, have us that much more excited for fall.

Congratulations on your senior year Gracie! We hope it’s your best year yet!

Return to the Kellum Valley | North Georgia Wedding Photographers

The week going into Lucas and Katie’s wedding weekend, a 100% chance of rain and severe storms were forecasted for pretty much all of North Georgia. While we hoped and prayed the weather forecast would change for the better, it only seemed to be getting worse. By mid-week, Katie had contacted us to let us know that they were working to make changes to their original wedding day plans.

When we first met with Lucas and Katie at their booking in January, they shared with us their dreams and vision to have their wedding day pictures and reception at a close family friend’s orchard located in the Kellum Valley. It’s a spot they hold close, a place they enjoy spending quiet time, where they got engaged, where we took their engagement pictures and where they dreamed of celebrating with close friends and family. Knowing how much this place means to them, our hearts broke for Lucas and Katie, but we all knew it was the best plan of action.

With the wedding day pictures and reception moved to a local church in Cleveland, Georgia… we made plans for a post-wedding bride and groom shoot at a later date in the valley they love. (All while still holding out hope for an extremely wrong forecast… hey it happens!)

The day of the wedding came and so did the rain… lots and lots of rain. Even with all the rain and changes, to have seen Katie and Lucas on their wedding day you would have never known anything was any different than planned. These two had and kept the best attitude and never lost sight of what was truly important or beautiful about the day… their marriage.

Katie had said to us going into the rainy day… I know it will all still be beautiful and friends it was. We didn’t return to the valley because their wedding day pictures aren’t beautiful, because they are! They had a beautiful wedding day filled with friends and family with sweet memories made. We returned because we know how much this beautiful place means to them because it was their dream and vision to have their portraits taken in the valley!

Soon to be married friends, this is something we tell all of our couples… don’t stress over the weather! Rain or shine your wedding day will be beautiful! Rainy day weddings have a romantic feel to them that just can’t be captured on a bright sunny day. Don’t get us wrong… we lovers of the sun and want beautiful days for all of our couples, we pray for beautiful sunny days… but we can see the beauty in the rain too. Just don’t be afraid to dance in the rain or frolic in the sunshine! You can always put your wedding dress and suit back on!

Katie and Lucas did just that! They didn’t let the rain get them down and in the end, they got the best of both worlds… romantic rainy day moments and sunshine-filled valley moments.
