This spring we’re quarantined in our homes but last spring we jumped headfirst into a whirlwind of spring weddings with our first one of the year at Toccoa Falls at the end of March. Since we’ve been stuck in our homes this year pretty much since March due to a global pandemic we thought we’d have some fun looking back at some of our favorite spring moments from 2019.
Today we’re looking back at that first 2019 wedding, at Toccoa Falls with Nikki and Austin. We were so excited to start our 2019 wedding year off with Nikki and Austin and when Nikki told us their wedding would be at the falls, we could do not wait! Knowing how gorgeous Toccoa Falls was we could only imagine how beautiful a wedding day there would be.
If you aren’t familiar with our North Georgia area… Toccoa Falls is located on the campus of Toccoa Falls College in Toccoa, Georgia in the Northeast corner of our state and is one of the tallest free-falling waterfalls east of the Mississippi River. With an easy, short walk up to the falls, it makes it ideal for a wedding ceremony location with a breathtaking view! One can easily bring in seating for large groups of guests or guests can easily gather around for a small intimate ceremony.
Austin and Nikki’s wedding day was on March 30, 2019, at 3:30pm. {They laughed and told us the wanted to have their wedding on 3/30 at 3:30 so it would be easy for them to remember! 😂 } In the days leading up to their wedding, we had several days of heavy rains and some flooding but on their March wedding day the sun was shining and the falls were thundering!
It was the most beautifully warm day at the falls, with a misty breeze blowing from the power of the falls to keep us all cool. With friends and family gathered and their boys by their side, Nikki and Austin said I do at the base of Toccoa Falls on the most perfect March day.
Here’s a look back at some of our favorite moments from the day! We hope you enjoy looking back at their special day with us!
