Bride to be friends… we’re headed back to The Walters Barn and this time you can come and join us!!
We’ll be at The Walters Barn Open House on Sunday, February 28, 2020, from 2-4pm. Come meet us, tour this gorgeous North Georgia wedding venue and meet all the other amazing vendors who will be there! For all the details on the open house click here.
If you aren’t familiar with The Walters Barn, it is a beautiful barn venue with a modern touch located in Lula, Georgia just outside of Gainesville, Georgia. We LOVE everything about this North Georgia venue from the ladies of Southern Soirees who plan and coordinate each wedding to the picturesque grounds of the property.
While the best way to see any venue is in person, we thought it might be fun to take you all with us to The Walters Barn on the blog today and share how we typically go about a wedding day at the barn plus give you all the reasons to come see it for yourself!
Ready? Here we go!
When we arrive on a wedding day, we typically start our day at the bridal cottage located just across the road from the barn. Brides you and your bridesmaids will love the light and airy space of the bridal cottage to get ready in and relax while enjoying some time together before the day begins.
Once our bride has finished getting ready and the last finishing touches are done, we’ll make our way back across the road down the drive to the barn. With a tree-lined drive and rolling pastures, we might even hop out for a bridal portrait or two. Once we’ve arrived at the barn, the Soirees Southern team will have your gorgeous bouquet ready and waiting for you. With split rail fences, meadows, and a serene pond on the grounds there’s no shortage of picture-perfect locations. Plus let’s not forget the barn with a patio space that’s perfect for sweet first looks or if you choose to forgo the first look it’s also a perfect spot for letter exchanges or a prayer between the barn doors. Bridal portraits between the barn doors are always breathtaking too! Or we could even head up to the balcony to give you and your groom a few quiet moments to themselves while taking in the beauty of the grounds.
One thing about The Walters Barn and the Southern Soirees team is that the details of the wedding day never disappoint here! From bouquets and boutonnieres to ceremony arbors and reception table centerpieces, nothing gets forgotten or overlooked! We love seeing all the details at The Walters Barn! After all the pre-ceremony pictures are finished, you’ll be tucked away into the barn and we’ll head out to capture all these lovely details.
Speaking of the ceremony, this is a venue with multiple options for your ceremony location. Brides here, you’ll have the option of having the barn as your backdrop or you could also choose to have your ceremony in front of the pond or facing the beautiful tree-lined pastures. If it rains or you are getting married in the winter, the inside of the barn with the barn doors open behind would be dreamy too! You’ll want to be sure to discuss with the ladies at the barn your ceremony options and the best location for your ceremony based on your ceremony time and the season you’re getting married in.
Now that it’s ceremony time, we’ll be getting in place to photograph your ceremony. We love to head up to the balcony to get a birdseye view of our brides here as they make their way down the aisle. After you’ve been pronounced Mr. and Mrs. there’s nothing like a fun celebratory picture of you and your guests taken from above!
After the ceremony, it’s usually time for the bridal party, family pictures and bride and groom. As guests head in to cool off and have an appetizer or drink we’ll start with family and bridal party pictures. Then when it comes time for bride and groom pictures, we like to sneak off back up to the tree-lined drive to give our couples a few quiet moments to soak everything in and capture the pretty light that glows through the trees. Or we might head to the back of the barn for a walk along the split rail fence. We’ll finish up by grabbing a few sweet moments in front of the barn doors before you make your grand entrance as the new Mr. and Mrs.!
With your bridal party or sweetheart table ready to go and a yummy meal to enjoy. You’ll have some time to enjoy dining with your friends as your guests are being served. Sometimes if our couples are up for it, after they finish eating and while their guests are still finishing up their meals, we’ll sneak away for a few quick sunset moments by the pond. We highly recommend sneaking out for sunset moments! That orange glow of light as it drops behind the trees just can’t be beaten! Plus at The Walters Barn, our couples can view the barn from the pond and have a few moments to see their guests enjoying all the fun!
Now its time for all the FUN! Toasts, speeches, first dances, cake cutting, photo booths and dancing the night away with your people! Here you’ve got room for a dj or band set up. Either are sure to get your crew out on the dance floor! After dancing the night away guests won’t mind one bit stepping out under the night sky to send you off on your way!
