Like most people, the days leading into the new year, had us feeling reflective on the places, we’ve been, the people we’ve met and the things we’ve done. Now that we’ve had some time to process it all, we’re ready to take you guys on a look back with us!

One of our favorite parts of 2019 was all of the new wedding venues our brides took us to! Plus we even got to re-visit a few we hadn’t been to in a while! We literally had a little bit of everything in 2019, waterfalls, mountains, barns, churches, farms, even a historic pink mansion! All of which were here in our North Georgia area! So we thought we would start our look back today, looking back at some of the new to us venues we had the pleasure of shooting at this past year and share some of our favorite moments there with you!

Toccoa Falls

Our first wedding of 2019 took us to Toccoa Falls, located in Toccoa, Georgia. For those of you who aren’t from our beautiful North Georgia area, Toccoa Falls is one of the tallest free-falling waterfalls east of the Mississippi River and located on the beautiful campus of Toccoa Falls College. If you’re looking for an epic location, then friend this is the spot for you! Saying I do against the setting of this beautiful waterfall is an experience not only for you and your groom but also for your guests. Guests will enjoy an easy walk to the falls and having some time to gaze upon the towering waterfall, and all while feeling the misty breeze of the water falling down. For your wedding here, you can easily bring in chairs, church pews or simply have your guests gather around you as you say your I dos! Just be sure to have a sound system complete with microphones as the roar of the falls is loud. 😉 Of course not only do the falls make for an epic ceremony location, but your bride and groom pictures here are also sure to be breathtaking! 😍

Enotah Valley Weddings and Events Center

We fell in love with the Enotah Valley and Events Center, located in Blairsville, Georgia, the minute we pulled in! With towering trees, and a stream rippling across the grounds there is a serene beauty to Enotah Valley that just can’t be beaten! The minute you step out of your car here, you’ll feel at peace and at home, and you’ll want to stay a little while longer! With beautiful rustic cabins for both the bride and groom to get ready in, you’ll be able to enjoy some downtime with your bridal party before the ceremony begins. For the ceremony, Enotah Valley has an antique car on-site to take the bride from the bridal cabin to the ceremony site. Talk about making an entrance! Plus you’ll have it on hand for some cute pictures after! The ceremony site itself is shaded by the canopy of the towering trees, making a cool spot for your guests. For the reception there is a covered patio area and rocking chairs for guests to enjoy or they can find their way into the air condition lodge!

The Walters Barn

We’ve been to The Walters Barn, before but it has been a couple of years since our last wedding there, so when we found out one of our 2019 brides was taking us back we couldn’t have been more excited! The Walters Barn is a gorgeous barn venue located in Lula, Georgia, which is practically right in our backyards! One of the things we love most about going to The Walters Barn is working with the Soirees Southern Events team there. Not only do they never disappoint with breathtaking and creative details, but they are also genuine in their care for not only their couples but also for the vendors coming in, as well as the guests attending the weddings there. Starting the day in the bridal cottage across the road from the barn, you’ll have all the comforts of home as you get ready. Heading down the beautiful drive to the barn, you’ll see rolling pastures and split rail fences. You might even get the surprise of Jack the donkey joining you for pictures! Once you arrive at the barn the quiet country landscape will take your breath away! Offering multiple ceremony sites for a ceremony set up, you could choose from having the barn, pond or trees as your backdrop/setting. Inside the barn, there’s a modern, chic rustic charm, with plenty of room for dining and dancing.  With a large level lawn area, you could easily set up an outdoor reception space with lawn games, such as cornhole, a giant game of Jenga, ring toss and more for guests to enjoy! Adjacent to the barn is a screened pavilion area complete with a fireplace perfect for creating a smores bar area, or for providing additional seating or setting up other reception activities like a photo booth! You and your guests will enjoy the dancing the night away here in the comfort of the air-conditioned barn but no one will mind stepping outside to take in the beauty of the sun setting and listening to the quiet of the night.

The Tate House

Do you have a love for history, antiques, glamour, and mansions… then The Tate House is a must-see!! The Tate House, also known as the Pink Palace is located in Tate, Georgia and is full of all the things luxury wedding dreams are made of! This historic mansion was built out of pink marble and is a sight to behold! Offering multiple picturesque gardens and views of the North Georgia Mountains, a garden ceremony site as well as a glass chapel option… yes, a glass chapel! With windows on all sides, you and your guests will feel like your outside while still enjoying the comfort of the indoors! Brides, your day will start getting ready in the most charming, luxurious bridal cottage, where no detail has been left out. As your ceremony closes and you and your bridal party head to pictures, guests will be given a tour of the mansion giving them a chance to take a step back in time and enjoy the beauty of the mansion. For the reception, you and your guests will head into the grand ballroom where guests will enjoy the elegance and fine dining provided by the on-site culinary team! From start to finish this all-inclusive wedding venue will check every box on your wedding venue checklist!

The Densmore Farm

The Densmore Farm is located just inside of Cleveland, Georgia and is another venue close home but for some reason, we never found ourselves there until this past fall! This North Georgia barn venue is full of rustic southern charm, from the barn to the fence lined drive and rolling pastures complete with horses, to the meadow behind the barn… there’s even a creek that run’s along the back of the meadow. This venue would be perfect in any season! Going inside the barn you’ll find it just as charming as the outside with string lights hanging from a tin ceiling it gives the effect of having a starry night sky above you as you dine and dance! With this feature, we imagine a wedding inside the barn would be just as dreamy as outside! Head upstairs to the bridal suite and you’ll find a large space for you and your girls to enjoy some time together before the day begins. There’s even a balcony off of the bridal suite for you to watch from as your guests arrive.

Koury Farms

Koury Farms is located in Auburn, Georgia just outside of Braselton, which makes it another venue that was close to home for us! If you are a fan of a white barn and whitewashed wood walls inside like us then this venue will also be a dream come true for you! With a large open floor plan on the inside of the barn, you’ll have plenty of room for a ceremony inside or space for a large dance floor for you and your guest to dance the night away! For outdoor options and space, there is a beautiful covered patio complete with string lights, overlooking the vineyard located just behind the barn. With this covered ceremony space, there’s no need to worry about a little rain or a little heat because guests will be shaded and sheltered from the elements! For pictures, you’ll definitely want to head out into the vineyards and take advantage of the beauty of the vines!

The Barn at Tatum Acres

A white dreamy barn on the outside and rustic charm on the inside is what you’ll find at The Barn at Tatum Acres! However, where The Barn at Tatum Acres really shows off to us is with its views! From the ceremony site, you can see for miles and miles overlooking the North Georgia mountains. The Barn at Tatum Acres is located in Jasper, Georgia close enough to the Atlanta area for guests to easily get to but far enough away to feel like a destination! The ceremony site is easily our favorite spot because of the views but there is so much more to love… such as the outdoor fireplaces for guests to warm up by on a chilly day or to enjoy a smores bar! Covered patio space for an indoor/outdoor reception space with a front porch sittin’ feel, looking over the scenic views of the property, will have guests happy to dine inside or out. Then as the sun goes down and the day’s formalities are finished the outdoor dance floor becomes the place to be! Guests will love watching the sunset and dancing beneath the glow of the string lights and a starry night sky!
